In the Veneto region, between Venice and the Dolomites, in the heart of the classic Prosecco DOCG region of Refrontolo, lies the ColSaliz winery. The name derives from "Saliz," a typical sandstone soil found on the hillside, which gives Glera grapes their distinctive characteristics. Owned by Antonio Faganello, now supported by his son Alberto, who joined the company in 2026, ColSaliz combines a modern structure with a winemaking tradition dating back to 1904. The winery extends across 15 hectares of vineyards located between 140 and 330 meters above sea level, with favorable west-southwest exposure.
Glera is the historic and defining grape variety of ColSaliz and Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG, capable of accurately reflecting the characteristics of the terroir. In our hills, characterized by clay-limestone and tuff soils, Glera finds ideal conditions for slow and balanced ripening. The clay ensures vegetative continuity, while the limestone provides structure, tension, and a distinct minerality. This results in wines of great freshness, aromatic finesse, and flavor, an authentic expression of the hilly terroir.
